Contax G1 won't fire...

Hello,

I've had my G1 for over about two years now and when I recently went to use it, it refused to fire. It fires the shutter completely fine as long as theres no film inside. This leads me to believe that the winding mechanism has gone bad. The rewind motor is fine though, as the manual override button works. Could someone check to see if the winding motor advances one frame when you shoot with the door open? Would be appreciated. And would this in any way be repairable or would it be a lost cause?
