Question for D7500 owners

Hi Guys

 

Could any of you D7500 owners give me the exact dimensions of the LCD screen of your camera in millimetres? i.e. If you were going to stick on a glass screen protector what size would it need to be? The size needs to be exact for a project I am working on.

Just to head off a question: do you need the size of the piece of glass, or the size of the display area? I suspect they're not the same. Not that I have a D7500 (and it's not obviously in the manuals of other cameras), so I'm afraid I can't help.

Can you simply cut the protector to any size you want?

The OP is taking about a screen protector made out of glass. Not sure how easy it is to cut (glass) to the exact size yourself, unless you have specialized tools.

 

I think the OP is better off finding a D7500 himself and measure it. I just went to Costco yesterday, and they were selling the D7500 kit. Didn't pay attention to whether they had a D7500 on display or not. Sometimes Costco has Nikon DSLR kits on display.

Thanks, but I don't need a screen protector. I just need to know the exact size of the area of the screen that would be normally be covered by a screen protector. I don't live anywhere near any stores that have one on display.

I'm intrigued to know what you're doing, Jamie, but I hope you find someone who can tell you.

 

I'm now curious to know how many pnet members have picked up a D7500, now it falls between the D7200 and D500.

Cannot believe someone has not answered OP question. Just measured mine. 76mm horizontal x 63mm high, glass dimensions, right to the edge of the black frame that supports the assembly that pivots out. It's only been out since April so maybe folks are not holding them yet.

Since my local camera store (Keeble and Shuchat) went out of business a year ago, I don't get to see new camera as often now. Yesterday I saw a D7500 in person for the first time, at a Costco store in Irvine, southern California. Didn't have a ruler with me to measure the LCD.

 

Except for the lack of a second SD slot, the D7500 is clearly in the D7000 series. Nikon moves the ISO button to next to the shutter release, similar to the D5, D850, and D500.
