Diamond Ring, With Solar Flare Still Showing (at 3 o'clock)

The total eclipse was a great adventure and I'm making plans for 2024. Many of us on this forum have the equipment needed. I used some other resources, but everything that I needed to know, I found here. You DO have to have a plan, because things move fast from just before totality to just after (the rings). Exposures change dramatically and fast.

Most forum members know that the star effect on the Diamond Ring image is actually lens flare, emphasized by using f/45. I looked at a lot of images on Getty and other sources and that's a popular, but unrealistic way to display the event. The "real" event is nice, but nowhere near as dramatic and eye-catching.

These are called wart-biters in Swedish. They really scare me.

We have been working on a small detached office. This week the network routing was due. A small ladybug visited our network cables as they were spread out across the yard.

Both images were shot with 5D Mark IV and Tokina 100 2.8 Macro.
