Thanks, James. I enjoy yours as well. Quite a few of the Starkville/MSU photos you've posted are places I've visited quite often. I frequently go through my old slides and negatives from my undergraduate years (mid to late 70's) and compare them with the way things look now.

Phew! I took Bill Bowes' advice and signed up under a new name. I seem to be back on the Forums. So, here's one for today!

Glad to see you made it "out of the dark side" Brad,. . . some of the Ver: 2.2 happenings are worthy of a Stephen King novel!

Over the last year or so, I have been working out with the Ultrafine Xtreme Max film. Billed as a "Cubix Grained" 400asa film, I have just begun to dial in on its characteristics. This time, I rated the film @ 125asa & developed in my "standard" 1.0ml of Obsidian Aqua for 16min (70f). Contrast was a bit high for the "flat" lighting of the test, so next time, 14min will be used. I have now used 4 rolls only in flat lighting & will "advance" to some real Zone exposures.

Excellent grain this time, almost equal to Rollei 80s, but the Max lacks the blue sensitivity of the 80s. Sharpness is tack on. Still the emulsion is plagued with dark "blobs" that appear as emulsion defects.

I have no clues to who the manufacture is & unless the two remaining rolls (36x) produce some super results, the 100 & 400 UFX emulsions will remain my "standards". Zorki 4 / Jupiter-8 combo. V800 scan. Enjoy, Bill903662979_2k17-082-003ces5bc.jpg.dae7f0a3931204788453a05190c9ac51.jpg

Is the etiquette of the thread 1 pic per day per person? Or one pic per day, whoever gets here first?

Anyhow .... Gobi Dunes, Nikon FM2n, 50mm f/1.8, Provia 100.

Dang, but the sand from the dunes is murder on a film camera. I changed two rolls at the top of the dunes, and had the dickens of a time keeping grit out. Got a few specks on the next rolls, fixable with software. No permanent damage.

Someone just gave me a Yeshica TL Electro x and included Soligor 90-200 mm lens.Apparently the camera did not get a great reception because it was not a Nikon or Canon and a little heavy with a 50 mm thread lens mount. I have tons on thread mount lenses so the is fine with me. Max 400 is a really nice film and I switched to L110 developer which is convenient and does not seem as grainy as I was led to expect.

One or two times I have had a photo that for some reason I had this impulse to post because I felt this need to post it because it was dear to me or related to a previous post and I wanted to preserve continuity. Also the time posted is a little confusing since it is correlated with a time zone that does not correlate with where I live. By they way, is there a way to download a photo from my portfolio?
