IanRivlin
I've been experimenting with this film, developed in XTOL. Long and the short if it.. Great film with a lovely appearance. I usually shoot TMax 400. Also a great film but i wouldn't call it artistic. If it reproduces the shadows well, it doesn't reproduce the highlights well and vice versa. Creative 200, exposed at 150asa, gives a delightful rendition of shadows, highlights and midtones. Grain? About the same as TMax 400, ie, when the speed is taken into account, not as good but the grain pattern is very appealing.Skin tones are excellent. I developed in XTOL 1:1 at 21c for 7 minutes. Initial 30 seconds agitation, then 5 seconds agitation every 30 secs. Scanned by a Noritsu HS1800 and I didn't need to make any corrections. Auto everything suited the film nicely. I highly recommend this film. I suspect it would respond well to a pyro developer.
Mike Gammill
I remember a test of this film in Shutterbug magazine back in the 90's. Not sure if it was the same film or an earlier version, but the tester stated (IIRC) that the film's true ISO was closer to 125. Exposing at E.I. 150 is a good compromise. BTW, this film is sold as Arista EDU 200 for less. If it's developing characteristics are similar to the ISO 100 version, I'm thinking it would do well in pyro. IanRivlin
It only cost AUD$6.50 (about US$5) per roll of 120 film. That's a pretty good price.
