You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension.

These two are from several months ago. There’s a short window of time on sunny mornings in spring when light from the rising sun hits the northern strand of this waterfall while the rest of the waterfall is still in shadow. I was experimenting with slow shutter speeds the first morning, but as an afterthought exposed one to try to freeze the motion and ended up liking it the best (ISO 100, f/10, 1/320 s. In Lightroom: slight increase in contrast, egregious increase in clarity; strongly increased whites, strongly decreased highlights, and slightly opened shadows):

I went back the next morning to try some even faster shutter speeds. As an afterthought, I exposed yet another at a slower speed, and ended up liking it the best (ISO 200, f/25, 1/25 s. In Lightroom: strongly increased contrast, reduced clarity, reduced shadows, increased whites, and reduced highlights. The illuminated jet here had a slight golden tinge, so I increased vibrance and slightly increased saturation to bring out the color difference. I then went in with an adjustment brush to restore clarity to the illuminated jet and to the rock walls):
