I just started shooting 4x5 this past spring, purchased a TOYO 45A along with a couple lens (90mm and 210mm). Just recently a friend gave me a Linhof Tele-Arton 250 mm f5.6 lens. I a couple questions in regards to image circle being able to cover 4x5 and where to set the infinity focus? Thank you

I couldn't dig out specs for the 250mm. - The older 240mm will probably cover 4x5" stopped down within portrait range but not for infinity. I'd start focusing around 15cm (6") bellows draw and eyeball exact infinity setting on the ground glass. - Among the old Tele Artons the 270mm seems more desirable for 4x5" although it is still very limited movements wise at infinity.

Maybe rather stick to your 210mm?

Hi, according to an old Schneider-catalogue the Tele-Arton 250/5.6 will just cover 4x5 at infinity and at f/22. 158mm image circle is stated for f/22 and at infinity.

I've read at another photo-site that the image circle is a tiny bit too small at infinity, but it would be a perfect portrait-lens.

It might be worth a try.

Using 9x12cm-film might be an option too, depending on your personal workflow and preferences.
