Jimmy Li roller cutter cut Technical Pan film easily

Put bulk load 32 exposure TP cassette on top of JL roller, pull out one inch film lead, insert the curl leader to engage the cutting rollers, and start turn the cutter knob clockwise to cut film in the total darkness

Before you go full speed, make sure the first inch of cut film becomes four separate strips, and make sure not one of these four

strips curled back into the roller, make sure they all come out from the left side of the slitter between two bars.. If this step is ok, turn off the light, and start cutting

full speed

If the darkroom is very quite, you can hear the cutting sound, zzzzzzzzzzzzz.....and feel the spindle of 35mm cassette is rotating.

When the film comes to an end, you will notice that the cutting sound stop, zzzzzzzz..hhhhhh and the spindle stop turning.

Use a pair of scissors cut off the 35mm casssette, keep on turning the cutter knob until all film cut.
Throw away the two sprocket strips, put the two pieces of 9.2mm film into light tight canister

Next step,

Bring the canister with two long pieces of 9.2mm techpan film into the dark room
Bring four Minox cassettes, each with one supply side cap
Bring a pair of scissors, a Radio Shack crocodile clip

In total darkness do
Take one piece of 9.2mm TP film, fold it head to tail, cut in middle to make 2 films
Do the same with other pieces of TP film
Now we have four pieces of Minox film, put them in canister
Take one piece of TP film, use the crocodile clip to clip one end, roll up the film, until only 1.5 inch
leader left, put the film roll into the cassette, slide the film leader throught the slit, put on the cap
press until you hear a click, put this piece in a separate box
Do the same with three other TP film. We have 4 cassettes with film

Next
Trim the leader edge straight.
Take a 10mm take up spool, put a piece of 5mm width 50mm long Scotch tape across.

Put it hollow side face up
put the cassette with supply side film , lay flat on table, push the leader toward the side of
the take up cylinder spool facing you, (not the other side).

Press the tap to stick to the film lead, turn
the spool counter clockwise, while pressing the tape to make sure the tape is secure, put the
spool into the take up side, slide the film leader through the take up chamber slit, put on the take up
side cap, use the tip of crocodile clip to ensure that the spool is properly aligned with the supply
side cap hole, snap the cap tight.

Use a hole puncher to punch a marker on the center of the piece of film between the supply chamber
and take up chamber, using different pattern to mark different film

Put the Minox film into the liittle cassette box, and put in a container marked with "Technical Pan film
for Minox" and date.

Put prepared Minox film in boxes.

I find that the Minox cassette boxes fit in empy Agfa multicontrast RC paper box very well, two dozen Minox cassette boxes fit in nicely.
