Laura Weishaupt
Basic Guidelines: In the strictest sense, nature photography should not include "hand of man elements". Please refrain from images with buildings or human made structures like roads, fences, walls. Pets are not permitted. Captive subjects in zoos, arboretums, or aquariums are permitted, but must be declared, and must focus on the subject, not the captivity. Images with obvious human made elements will likely be deleted from the thread, with an explanation to the photographer. Guidelines are based on PSA rules governing Nature photography which also cover the Nature Forum. Keep your image at/under 1000 pixels on the long axis for in-line viewing. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site at Flicker, Photobucket, your own site, etc. Are you new to this thread? We post one image per week. Good Morning, I came to join in the fun and find that the thread has yet to be started. Time to wake up! Get your coffee, make that tea, pour some grog of some kind and smell the nature...................mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........smells good. The hands of Xylaria hypoxylon reach from buried wood, looking like something from "The Mummy". What else is creeping around in the woods? Could be anything when it's Monday in Natue. Where's that popcorn?

Laura Weishaupt
Thanks Gordon. There was another "hand" nearby, but not close enough to be effective. Nice raccoon. We have many here but since we don't have feeders they stay in the woods. One may have been up in the cherry tree recently.......something left a pretty big cherry packed pile near the shed. Edwin Barkdoll
Lovely quetzal, Shun. Amazing what sexual selection can create. BTW I think it is a male; the female resplendent quetzals are beautiful but lack the long tail feathers and the "pompadour" Test
