I had the same problem, usually the first upload works, after that, nothing but the error message.

I think there's no consistency to this, so who knows if it will work in the situation you're having, but I have found that if I upload a photo and then delete it, the only way I can successfully upload again is by quitting and then relaunching my browser. Maybe you've tried that. If not, give it a shot. Of course, this shouldn't be happening. But it is.

I noticed in your avatars there is a drink in your hands..... I'm just saying... Marie, I looked at my favorite section this morning, your name appeared but no image, now I see/hear what the problem is. Just remember, your paying for this -

upload failed upload failed upload failed 9 out o 10 times. i resize, rename smaller, bigger...10 times. I am done.

I find that it depends on from where I call the upload.

If I'm in a thread, and want to upload a file as a reply, clicking 'upload a file' fails.

If, however, I go to the upper right corner of the page, hover over my avatar, a dropdown 'upload' appears, which is clickable and works: giving the option to upload a pic to my portfolio, add tags, category, etc; and choose which gallery it goes into.

Other issues on occasion, but no problem uploading. I resize to 1000 long side, drag and drop to portfolio, gallery, or upload to most forums I've tried. On occasion I can even highlight multiple images (6 or so) and drag & drop them. Curious thing is not that so many people have problems with the site, but incredible variety experienced by people!

Anything that comes from photoshop edit, seems to be the problem. Lightroom edits upload ok... I save in JPEG, as I have always done so I really don't get it.

How are you doing the export to JPG from PS? For anything web, I use the legacy "Save for Web" feature. Over time, my discovery has been that this method always leads to a JPG or PNG image that works everywhere...

If you try to post before the image has "settled down" (wait for several seconds, probably for the server to catch up), the upload will fail. Patience is necessary. There may be times when the P,net server is overloaded, I know not.

Otherwise if the file is jpg, the size is less than 1000 pixels max, and the name doesn't have any weird characters in it, my upload rate is 100% successful.

"Save for Web" is a really good idea - I use it always.
