Pentax Screw Mount Lenses FS

Going through some old stuff and I found these two lenses: 105mm f2.8 Super Takumar and 28mm f3.5 Super-Multi-Coated Takumar. These are "Auto" lenses with the pin that stops down the aperture when the shutter is released. Both lenses are in excellent condition with no scratches, chips, scrapes, dents or blemishes of any kind on the glass or the barrels. Focusing is tight, aperture rings turn properly and the pin mechanism works just fine. I can find nothing wrong with these lenses. They were given to me a long time ago with some other gear but, as a Nikon user, I had no use for them. They are in their original (faux?) leather cases which are pretty worn. The 28 has a Samigon 1A filter that is in excellent condition. I'm sure these would be great performers for someone with an old Spotmatic or similar camera that takes the threaded lenses. I will entertain any reasonable offers.

Oh yeah, both lenses have original front and rear caps and the 105 has the original lens hood. These pieces look as if they have never been used.

The Pentax Forum lists the "average price" for the 105 at $100 and $61 for the 28. These lenses are way above average. I was hoping to get around $190 for the pair and I will pay shipping. I am willing to negotiate that price. I do have an interested party on another forum and I have given him first refusal. He should let me know by May 8th.

No worries - thank you.

The only tool for getting a hint of what some lens or camera is worth in actual money is the "sold list" on eBay.

No price that has been around long enough to make it to print or to some "how much is this worth?" website is going to be anything like current.

Most lenses, and perhaps especially M42 (screw) lenses, have remarkably little monetary value. Use Value, another thing, but you can't bank that.

The market is a little more volatile right now, because of the introduction of quality adapters for mirrorless cameras and such.

Just now I looked at recent sales of the 105mm f2.8 Super Takumar, and they range from below US$ 50 to an exceptional US$150. I didn't try to figure out why the one high value was paid.

The 28mm f3.5 Super-Multi-Coated Takumar has recently sold for $30 to $70 for a working one.

You're not going to send the kids to college on the receipts from these really excellent lenses :{

Thanks for the lesson. But now, I reiterate my original position: "I will entertain any reasonable offers". Heck, I'll entertain unreasonable offers, though I probably won't accept them. I'm just looking for a fair price. (And my kids finished college years ago.)

Greg, If no buyers on Photonet, suggest you post an ad on Rangefinder Forum. I sold a camera on that site after no bites on Photonet. Ad cost me $7.00, but I had several responses within hours and a total of about seven responses if I remember correctly. My ad for a Yashica T4 Super camera may still be visible onthis (Photonet) site.
