Very interesting - the lower D750 price is now the same as the D610. Probably gonna step on D610 sales for a while.

If you have been anxiously waiting for Nikon to announce replacements for the D750 and D810, you are now officially authorized to start holding your breath.

Nikon is having a short/medium-term rebate, similar to what they offered during the holiday season (November to December), 2016.

The deal for the D500 with $200 off and a "free" MB-D17 battery pack/vertical grip is back:

Nikon Camera and Lenses | B&H Photo Video

I'll say this again. Last year, I was quite certain that Nikon would upgrade the D810, but that didn't happen. While I continue to think that is likely in 2017, any conjecture about when Nikon will update the D810 and D750 is completely yours. I certainly don't think Nikon will update the D500 any time soon, but after a year on the market, the original $2000 price tag for the D500 seems quite high by now. Somewhere around $1500 is more like it.

What a way for Nikon to shoot themselves in the foot: should pre-order a D7500 for $1250 now and wait until summer to take delivery or should I go for a proven D750 for $1500 now (and get a free MB-D16 thrown in)? Need a lens with that? How about $1750 for a D7500/18-140 combo vs $2K for a D750/24-120? A $250 difference to go FX - what's there to think about?

Agreed, I think Nikon should make that $200 discount permanent - and perhaps add another $100 discount on top of it.

That's low-balling a bit too much I think. Not even the D810 dropped that much after 1 year. Its price at introduction had been $3300, and IIRC dropped to $3K about 9 months later. It then took another year to get down to $2800. Now with discount, it is at $2500, almost three years since being introduced.

Yep, exactly my thought when I ordered a D-750 for my wife today. What a great deal on that body especially with the grip, memory card, bag U.S. warranty (Mine is gray market)

I think both the D750 and D810 prices are at the lowest ever for a new one. I don't think the price will drop any further. So it's time to buy them if we still want them.

I agree. I bought a d810, 24-120mm with free mb-d12 and shure microphone for 2996.00. At this point it can't go much lower.

Therefore, apparently a number of people, perhaps quite a few, have taken advantage of the rebate on the D810 and D750. It looks like this rebate campaign is working out quite well. I don't think Nikon is exactly shooting themselves in the foot.

Yup they are good deal. I think better than refurbished deal. This was the question I asked Shun when I was considering buying the Df. I asked that whether Nikon would sometimes in the future discount the Df like they do on the D810, D750 now? I was willing to wait 3 - 4 years as long as I can get the Df new for a discount. The answer was probably never so I went out and bought the Df. So far there has been no discount yet.

Is it Nikon USA or Nikon Global, who has this campaign? I bought the D810 in Nov 2014 and paid USD 2,250, which is Itill the price

in Saigon. It is with 6 months warranty, if buying from the official importer you get 12 warranty for abt USD 300 more. If it is Nikon Global it should have an influence on the price here too.

  • 1 month later...
According to B&H's web site, this sale/rebate will end on June 17, i.e. in about 3 days. (At least I have no idea whether Nikon USA will extend it or not.) Of course, it has been around since the end of April. Those who would like to take advantage of this discount already have a month and half to act on it. Edited by ShunCheung

With the release of the D7500 earlier this month, can we expect to see the D7200 price coming down soon?

I bought my D7200 quite early and paid the full $1200 for it. Currently it is $1000 such that it is already discounted. I think the D7200 was going for something like $800 to $900 during the holiday season last year. Therefore, you may see another $100 to $200 off.

The D7500 is a bit of a weird camera since it needs to somehow squeeze between the D500 and D7200. IMO, if one shoots a lot of wildlife and/or sports and need a fast frame rate, you are better off getting the D500 for its superior AF, etc.

Seems to me that I read where in the last week or so that the D7200 was showing as discontinued on Nikon's Japanese site. That would make sense with the release of the D7500. Of course with camera sales slowing, Nikon could look to cut the price on remaining D7200 stock. I got my D7200 for $996 last month, and got another $150 off of the 70-300 AFP, so I don't feel too bad.

I just could not justify a D500 for my use, although it was hard to pass up the combo deal with the grip and 16-80 lens. But, weight counts now more as I hear the end of my 70's , and the D500 is already heavier than the D7200 even without counting the grip on the D500. On the other side of that I'd probably be just as well served with 20MPs, but one has to make choices, and I only paid half of what the D500 deal would have cost in buying my D7200. I did add the Sigma 17-50 2.8 because it is touted as being the sharpest zoom for DX.

Circumstances have kept me from really wringing the D7200 out with any lens. I did manage the first few snaps with the Sigma 17-50, but the 70-300 AFP has not even been mounted yet. What is clear is that I need to work on my technique, what worked with my D200's 10 MPs does not with the D7200's 24 MPs. Now we are in the Arizona summer heat, where "only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noonday Sun!", so we're in a holding mode. ;o)

So new cameras would be announced next month I think. They have to raise the price of the old stuff back to normal to leave room for discounting again once the new stuff is announced.

Or if you still haven't bought Dad a new Nikon for Father's Day, you have to pay more now. :-)

Yup! Like I said those were the best possible price for new D750 or D810. There will never be a better deal for a new one. Used, refurbished yeah but not new.

Refurb, yuck. I know some have had good luck with Nikon refurbs, but I see it as taking an unnecessary chance. KEH gives twice the warranty on used that Nikon does on refurbs. Plus, I trust KEH's inspections to be more reliable than Nikon's. YMMV
