I agree, and have been here less and less. It's not enjoyable anymore. I hated losing the "Unified forum." It taught me about areas of photography that I don't do and allowed me eliminate areas that were totally irrelevant to me. I used to love the "No Words" forum, and participated the a great deal, but now it fills up the recent posts. Ordering by the latest posting makes the site appear to be more active, but it makes it harder to go back to an interesting thread. My paid membership goes into the summer, so I'll wait until then to decide whether to continue. All the best to you.

I agree 100%, but as I've said before, management decided to go to this new format with the expectation that they would gain enough new, paying members that it would offset the loss of veterans. I don't know if they did cost-benefit analysis or if they did nothing but decide to go with the new format based on expected (or dreamed for) revenue. It's obvious that they replaced what was here before, but it's only now becoming apparent that they ruined it for a number of users. It's their toy. They can do with it as they wish.

Our only hope is that negotiations are going on behind the scenes to sell the site. Where are Phillip G? If current owners are paying any attention at all, they must be near the point of pulling the plug. I can't think of another site that has died such a slow and tortured death.

Gracias.Les deseo lo mejor

I stopped using any part of the site for anything other than the people on the forum. I think you are spot on with your views. I have nearly 1.5 million views on YouPic and display my work there and on Flickr.

Holy crap, john. YouPic's home page opens and looks exactly like PN 2.0.

Doesn't anyone today on the internet have an original idea?

Tim: It has nothing to do with look or feel -- it is the folk who run the site that were the issue.

I wasn't addressing your issue, John. I was making a general observation and statement about the creative ethics in website design on the internet after seeing YouPic. It seems no one cares if one site looks exactly like the others but expects to stand out in the crowd.

I don't think anyone should expect the site to carry them. I would prefer a site that is as vanilla as possible and therefore the photographer's work is what stands out. Having said that the site should be technically superb in order to facilitate that exposure.
