Argenticien
All the below are with Pentax MX + SMC Pentax 50/2 lens, Ilford FP4+ through Rodinal, Epson V700 scans. These are from a few weeks ago, the first test roll with a new-to-me camera. The lens is one that I got a few years ago as a body cap on a Pentax ME. When I first received it, I gave it a quick test on digital and found it awful compared to my Takumar 50/1.4 lens. Upon trying it again, I see it may actually be not so bad... --Dave Have a Dog Gone Good Day by Argenticien, on Flickr Nuts and Bolts by Argenticien, on Flickr Tea Tins at Waterbean Coffee by Argenticien, on Flickr
rick_drawbridge
Wow! The standard of photography gets higher each weekend! I recently picked up a minty Tamron Adaptall II 35-135mm f/3.5-4.5 (model 40a), and here are three frames from a test film. The lens was fitted to a Ricoh Singlex TLS, and the film was Arista EDU Ultra 100 developed in PMK Pyro. So far, I think the lens lives up to it's good reputation. Mike Gammill
Great job with the Tamron, Rick. As the number of different lens mounts in my "stable" increased, the more I came to appreciate the Adaptall series. I bought a Minolta 35-135 new when it came out and still use it today. Often I pair it with a 24mm lens and I have what I need for most photo opportunities, BTW, Tamron makes a really nice 24mm f2.5 Adaptall.
Mike Gammill
While Firefox is working well, here's one from my Minolta SRT 101 with the ultracompact Sigma Mini-tele 135mm f3.5. Film was Ilford FP4+ in HC110 dilution H. The compressed world of short teles
rick_drawbridge
Thanks, Mike; my small flock of Tamrons is gradually increasing. I have the Adaptall II 24/2.5, and I certainly consider it one of the best 24mm lens in my possession. Odd that you're having trouble with Firefox, as I'm using that browser, with no serious hiccups. Mike Gammill
Rick, I think it's the combination of Firefox and netbook that may be the problem. Just seems a little worse on the new site, but at least does work most of the time. Even the early Adaptall lenses (especially primes) were very good. I had a 70-150 f3.8 when I was in college that served me well. It even worked well with the Kalt 4 element teleconverter that I once owned. Never cared for the bulky 38-100 f3.8 that we stocked at the family camera shop. Too much barrel distortion at the wide end,
rick_drawbridge
Yes, Mike, I've always been a Tamron fan. I'm sure you're acquainted with the site but for others interested in all things Tamron the Adaptall 2 site is a font of knowledge. Pinklather
Erko - they just keep looking excellent. I hope you're having fun at it. I'll have whatever Rick is having. rajmohan.
My 3 are all from a Hasselblad Super Wide C - sadly it is not mine! A very generous friend lent it to me, and these 3 images are from the first roll of Tri-X that I put through it. Marvelous camera with a wonderful Zeiss lens. Mike Gammill
Great photos this weekend. rick_drawbridge
Great images from the Superwide, Rajmohan. I hired one a few times, years ago, for specific uses, but eventually added the SMC Pentax 45mm f/4 to my Pentax 67 kit. On the 6x7 format this lens's coverage is pretty close to the Biognon's 38mm on the 6x6 frame, and there's not much between the two when it comes to IQ. Rather than flogging off body parts, $1000 will buy you a good Pentax 67 body and the 45mm lens... Just something to think about. Here are a couple of old samples; both were shot on Ilford HP5 Plus, and probably developed in Ilford ID11. Entrance Lowland Forest
