RickW
The new, new format is MUCH better than the old, new format... but still is well short of satisfactory. Big problem: The gallery displays are huge. I have lots of galleries, and scrolling down to the older ones takes forever. I've just be trying to change the order of the newer galleries on my laptop, and I can move one gallery one space at a time, if I'm lucky. The old-format window that had ALL of the gallery titles displayed and allowed one to move them around was much, much better. Medium problem: It's a PITA to load and put into order new photos. It was vastly easier with the old format. Again, why the gigantic displays? Splashy, sure, but maddening. Small problem: Why can't the new site remember me so that I don't have to enter my username and password every time? Rick
RickW
And two other things: Using my desktop, I re-ordered my galleries. Are they displayed in the new order? Of course not! Also, the site does everything s-l-o-w-l-y. Very slowly. And then it often hasn't done them.
zamazal
Another thing: The possibility to display a photo without most of the surrounding content and downsized to the browser window size is a great feature that I missed at the old site. However the remaining surrounding content can be rendered over the photo, which makes the feature much less useful. The wasteful banners and labels everywhere are really annoying. Maybe they can help to attract new users (they would repel me, but they may work differently on others), but I fail to understand how should they help regular users of the site. Would it be possible to add a subscriber benefit to not waste space with those gadgets? I think one can fix a lot himself with userstyles and userscripts, but it would be nice if photo.net could provide a nice layout out of the box. :)

You can also navigate the photographers gallery by using the < Gallery name > nav in the lightbox
zamazal
Yes, this is what I'm talking about. The problem is that the navigation buttons, author's name, title, etc. may, depending on the ratio of the photo, cross the photo area. That is unpleasant. BTW, is there a way to enter and escape the lightbox with a keyboard?
Robert DeCandido PhD
and how do I create a link to a specific gallery? Suppose I want to create a gallery for someone to look at...how do I link to that particular gallery?

soniam
I really dislike this new Format. I will likely be leaving the photo.net community because this has become an ugly form of art display.
