Laurie1
I came across this today and thought it may be of interest to some people. LINK An archive of Soviet 1950's slides, photographs and 16mm films was recently re-discovered by an American historian. The photographs were taken by a Major Martin Manhoff who was attached to the US Embassy for 2 years in the 50's. You can read more about the history of this on the website. You have to scroll down to Part1, Part 2, and Part 3, for the photos. So far only a part of the archive has been digitised. Apart from the historical perspective, which I find interesting, I like the aesthetics of the photos, particularly the colours. Most of the images are reportage style but if you look through you can come across some that have more of an artistic look, for me anyway. Enjoy.
