gabriel_gerena
Hello!
So I used to have the normal FD 300mm 2.8 white but sold it and now for some reason got curious about trying this rare Fluorite version.
Anyone else currently using one?
I saw a test on another forum and liked how it was more contrasty and a bit longer than the white version but I understand with such old lenses, performance can vary a lot based on condition.
We shall see!

rick_janes
Did it also come with the teleconverter specifically marked as "FD 2x"? Here's something of interest, too: http://forum.mflenses.com/fd-300-2-8-l-versus-ssc-fluorite-t75090.html
bob_hartemink
Congrats Gabriel! I'm also a happy owner of this lens and use it on my Sony A7. I can't compare it with the later white version, however I think it is a great lens, Very sharp already at f/2.8, incredibly sharp at f/8. It has a lovely, creamy bokeh, also stopped down. But because of its weight, my FD 300mm f/4L sees more use.

NLsafari
Hi, I have the Canon FD 300 F/2.8 S.S.C. Fluorite with the GREEN line on the sun shade. Am extremely rare and sharp lens. With a 2X extender and using film it can resolve the legs of a fly at a distance of over 200 feet. Look at the pictures in my gallery they were taken with this lens using Portra 400 film.
