Hello everyone,

I am a new bie getting started in the portrait and glamour photography. I am in the market for couple or more strobe lights, preferably with battery power options , Radio triggering, High Speed Sync - I havn't worked with HSS yet , but think it would be a nice features if I need it in the future. Not big on TTL.

Some of the options I am been looking at are,

Paul C Buff Einstein 640 499 + 239 ( Vagabond travel mini + 179 Cybercommander + 29 ( Transceiver)

Flashpoint Xplor HSS AD600 $550 ( all included )

Orlit Rovelight 610 HSS-TTL $699 ( all included)

Interfit S1 TTL and HSS $729 ( all included)

I am kind of leaning towards PCB, as I have been reading a lot of positive reviews but could it be, little outdated compared to some of the new strobes coming in the market, that are compact and has more features.

Thank you!!

I think you will hear from others here that use and like the Einstein. Price point is excellent. The reliability for me has been stellar. Other companies are catching up to the Cybercommander. But I can also control intensity of the 250 watt modeling lights from it. If you want to shoot at f/1.4 to 2.0, it dials down to 2.5 watt seconds and will burst 6-10 pops per second even off the vagabond. It can have a flat line color temp and 1/13,500 sec duration. If those are important to you, it has them. Earlier models of PCB had some issues with gripping modifiers. Had a 7' octa hung for 2 years without incident. Service is beyond belief, a human who intimately knows the product.
