The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. This forum's moderators are allowing up to three images per week, so share some work!

A special Nikon Wednesday thanks to all of those who've been willing to live through what seems to be a painful work in progress getting PN into usable form on its new platform. I miss the old format, but I understand the need to whip it into 21st century shape. Still, I'm feeling nostalgic, so I'm trotting out some shots from a few years ago, when I posted a question about that old Nikon bokeh meter I found. Good times.

So: share some photos! Especially if you're feeling a little mischievous.
Dieter Schaefer
Especially if you're feeling a little mischievous. Don't mind if I do. Since an image is worth 1,000 words I thought I demonstrate the size advantage of a lens for a mirrorless camera over its equivalent for a DSLR that arises from the shorter flange-to-sensor distance of the mirrorless allowing for the possibility to design a much smaller and lighter lens. Quite obvious that the lens designer didn't make use of that possibility here. The choice of white/beige paint for the Sony lens doesn't make for an inconspicuous setup either.

Nikon D7100, Sigma 35/1.4 Art, f/4.5, 1/50s, ISO 2500 Sony's 70-200/4 is 80 mm x 175 mm and weighs 840g; filter is 72mm. Nikon's 70-200/4 is 79mm x 178 mm and weighs 850g; filter is 67mm.

Now I am wondering which of the two would give the better reading on the Bokemeter? johnfarrar
Excellent, both an excuse for an old image AND for a Sigma lens. From 10 years ago, D200 with Sigma 10-20.

Andrew Garrard
Weird. I was trying to work out why some, but not all, of the images had turned into thumbnails. Turns out I'd been logged out (despite just posting). When I logged back in, the images were back to full size. Just thought I'd mention the curio I'll be back with actual photos later.

Ooh - but now I'm me again!

Matthew Currie
I'm suddenly getting a problem uploading files. Not sure why. So I guess that's all for now! No, wait, if I add it on an edit, it comes through. How odd. Well, anyway, here's the result of playing with a Sima 100 mm. plastic singlet lens on a D3200.
