dennis_j_smith
I found a stack of old slides stored in a box, from my younger days, and they are covered in some sort of grime/dust/dirt. I have been trying to find Kodak's film cleaner, but I was told that Kodak dose not make this any more. So how dose one clean slides now? I think one can use alcohol from a pharmacy, what do ya think?
glen_johnson
In an answer to this same question in the original Q&A forum, Philip has suggested PEC-12, available from B&H, and many other photo shops at modest cost.
philg
Yes, you certainly want to buy yourself a bottle of PEC-12 (about $10). I would NOT use alcohol. I think an even kinder and gentler approach would be to rewash somehow in PhotoFlo. But of course you'd have to take the slides out of their mounts and then you'd have to go over the greasy parts with PEC-12 anyway.
