gmlasam
When taking light meter reading in flash mode, the meter keeps giving reading of "E", meter reading is out of range at lower exposure, over f/45+. Do I need a special spherical diffuser to meter in flash meter reading mode? I thought flahs reading can be made with default spherical diffuser. If I set it to ambient mode, the light meter works fine.
jimstrutz
I don't know why your IIIF is saying it's out of range, but I do know that you don't need a special diffuser. With mine I can't get it to work at the higher shutter speed setting, but it works fine at the slower speed setting. Somethings wrong inside, but I don't really care. Does yours fail at both shutter speed options?
gmlasam
The meter works in AMBI mode, but does not work on both 60 and 250 flash metering modes. I took it over at Quality Light Metrics Co in Hollywood, CA and they determined that the circuit board was bad. They replaced it and it works as good as new. I orginally called Minolta to have it fix, but they no longer service the Minolta Auto Meter IIIF. Good thing Quality Light Metrics Co. still service older light meter devices.
