neil_grant
<p>...I can't set it to anything lower than 800 ISO - they are all 'greyed out' in the menu. I get a dialog saying:<br> 'this operation is not available, gamma s log 3'<br> <br />Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?<br> thanks!</p>
phule
<p>Googling a generic version of the error message indicates that you may have turned on Picture Profile and/or are in Movie mode. If neither of these are true, the only step available appears to be a full reset on the camera. </p>
neil_grant
... thanks, that's what it is. Picture profile was engaged in error. There are many choices and some restrict the minimum ISO that can be set. I took 'pp' off altogether - though I'm not sure what the default was.
Karim Ghantous
<p>It goes to show that cameras have too many menu items! Leica gets it. BTW I'm a Sony shooter (a pair of NEXes) and I love them.</p>
rodeo_joe1
In the old days there were just 2 menus; one for aperture and one for shutter-speed. Both with direct input rotary controls. ISO speed was preselected. This system seemed to work well for nearly 150 years, and great pictures were produced in spite of its crude and naive simplicity.
