Canon 5d mark 2 not turning on

i recently purchases a broken 5d mark 2 from ebay, in the efforts to restore it, when i first received the camera i tested it out and it turned on took around 4-8 test shots and then suddenly the camera ceased to work, since the write light has been intermittently flashing when the battery was in even when the camera was off, after further inspection i located some corrosion on the motherboard which after cleaning the camera didn't respond at all so i replaced it, after replacing the motherboard when i put the battery in and close the door the write light flashes when the door is closed which is whats supposed to happen, however, it only happens when the cf card is in. also upon further inspection, the tiny lever responsible for determining if the card door is open or not is permanently jammed down.
when i turn the camera on nothing happens, the display does not light up neither does the top display after pressing the light button, i had a slight feeling the DC/DC board was broken and after looking at it i found more corrosion. any suggestions as to what to do ?

well two days later and i got it working, i cleaned the contacts on the battery, and now the camera functions however the screen is messed up and the top lcd doesn't work as in this picture, i sometimes get a glance at the menu so the camera does work, just a case of getting the screen to work properly

I'm assuming that you are at least somewhat experienced with electronics repair, since you had a spare motherboard on hand. However, I seriously would not invest anything but spare parts from broken cameras into this camera. With that much corrosion, I'm at least 50% certain it took a swim at some point or got VERY wet, and 100% certain it had a very hard life. And some point it becomes a Ship of Theseus situation...you've replaced everything so is it even the same camera? If the electronics were shot, the shutter mechanism is probably not long for this world either, as I'm sure there is corrosion hiding in other places.
If you are just looking for a project, fine. If you intend to do any serious photography with this camera, I wouldn't expect it to work regularly or for very long. I'd pick up a different used 5DmkII if you are tied to that model for sentimental or budgetary reasons. And I definitely wouldn't sell it if you do get everything working...you probably won't have a happy customer in a few weeks or months.
