How much space is left on a card .... how to check this?

<p>Which function on the E-P2 or the E-PL1 lets me check how much space is left on the memory card?<br>

<p>I don't know about those cameras you mention, but it's pretty easy to insert the card into your computer (or card reader) and then check it's properties. FYI ... Remaining space only gives you a general idea about how many more images can fit on the card.</p>

<p>I just had a look at my E-PL3 and there is an item on the full screen display that tells you how many more shots you can have (at current image size setting). This isn't the same as space remaining but it's as good as. I looked through the menus and I didn't find anything better.</p>

<p>David: I am looking for some indicator that tells me as I am taking photos whether I have little space left for additional images or a lot so that I can quickly change the card in the middle of a shoot. <br>

Brian: This may be what Olympus is offering to use. I may have to go by the number of images taken.<br>

<p>I would think knowing the number of shots remaining, at a specific resolution/file size, would be much more useful than knowing how many gigs of memory are left. The former requires no long division in my head.</p>

<p>Try the format function, which I think tells the amount used. Just cancel out, don't hit enter!</p>

<p>Try pressing the Info button until you get several of your settings displayed. There should then be a number in the extreme bottom right, which is the number of shots left. Check by firing a waste shot and it should decrease by 1.</p>
