View Camera Magazine Issues

Is anyone interested in acquiring nine inches worth of View Camera magazine issues? Acquiring and using a view camera is one of my goals in life that I don't think I will achieve. Pay the postage and they're yours or pick up (Central New Jersey). Can't bear to throw them away, but need the room. Stored in air-conditioned and or heated environments so all in excellent shape. If interested, I will inventory and count issues.

What a kind offer Dennis. I'm not interested in the

magazines, but I feel sad that your ambition to own

and shoot a view camera might not be realised.

I have a couple of years worth of "The British

Journal of Photography" from the 1970s stashed

away. I think I'll follow your lead and offer them to a good home. (In the UK - postage would be prohibitive elsewhere.)

Thanks for the replies; I appreciate the interest; To Michael Hendrickson: here is some additional information you, or others, may want to consider:
1. The magazines weigh 34.4 lbs on my digital bathroom scale
2. A quick check on line at UPS using an estimated 36 lb shipping weight and an arbitrary Sacramento, CA zip code resulted in an estimate of $77.77 for UPS ground (5 day transit); I didn't investigate something called Dimensional Pricing which takes into account the dimensions of the box.
3. A quick check of the USPS website, again using an estimated ship weight of 36 lbs, a Sacramento, CA zip code, and box dimensions of 19L x 13D x 9H (only estimates but close to what the ideal box would be) resulted in an estimate of $83.46 for USPS retail ground (7 day transit).
I have not investigated if something like a special "book rate" may apply for USPS shipments.
Rest assured I would pack securely; I'm thinking of stiff Styrofoam on top, bottom, and sides.
I'll await further replies. Again, I'm prepared to inventory by year, issue, etc. It appears that the magazine was issued every two months - 6 issues per year.

Dennis - This is a nice offer to get your magazines to a new home. My suggestion would be to look at USPS Flat Rate boxes. They are not dependent on weight to determine shipping costs. They have a 12" x 12" x 5 1/2" box that ships for $18.85. Two of those boxes should be able to ship your magazines. That would greatly lower the shipping price. The boxes are free. You might want to visit your local post office. Tell them what you want to ship and see what they have to offer.
