Contax G2 stop working

<p>Hello everyone so I own a Contax G2 camera. I just tried to use it the other day and it wouldn't turn on and I assumed it was the battery so I replaced that and it still won't turn on. I am not sure what the deal is. I haven't damaged the camera in anyway. Any ideas what it could be?</p>

<p>Hi Tom, it could be a simple fix like cleaning the battery compartment. I have had several cameras that I thought were inoperable but worked fine after cleaning the contacts in the battery compartment. I have used pencil erasers to help clean. I hope it works again for you.</p>

<p>Pull the lens off too and see if it has that green or blue stuff on the electrical contacts that connect it w/ the body. Also, ck your new batteries to make sure they're fresh, as these cameras need the full voltage to work. Jon's idea on the battery contacts is your first place to ck though.</p>

<p>It is important to keep the contacts on the Contax clean. Q tips with isopropyl alcohol. The contact posts in the body and the contact surfaces on the lenses and of course the battery chamber contact's. I have had this problem and cleaning with this method worked.</p>
