sjmurray
Haven't been out lately. Minus 1 F this morning here in MN. The trails in the woods where I bike are icy right now from freezing rain last week. So, here's a couple shots from last night: granddaughter Iris (pink pants) playing with a neighbor girl Vivian.

DavidTriplett
Out on a lunchtime walk with my new (for me) Micro-Nikkor AFS 105mm/2.8. Wow, is that thing sharp! Gup
All the best in this new year to you Matt, and all here at P.net.
Here are a few from this afternoon.
We had a brief respite from a serious snow storm so I sprang into action. These were taken 45 minutes apart.
We didn't have any appointments scheduled for today so I'm just letting it pile up. Tomorrow will be a serious snow removal day. I will unleash the mighty Honda track machine and we will together do battle against Mother Nature, usually a failing cause.
john_harper9
I did a lot of work putting up and tearing down toy trains to benefit several museums holiday events. wade_roth
I think I found something interesting to shoot this week. I need to get a cable for my Pocket Wizard PlusX's so I can snap the shutter while the camera is in front of the shooter and I'm behind them in a safe position. The benefits of a dreary day... every once in a while you can catch the muzzle flash.

Gup
Immediately as I was about to post this afternoon, our power went out. Not unusual given the conditions. So, six hours later, I'll try again...
All the best in this new year to you Matt, and all here at P.net.
Here are a few from this afternoon.
We had a brief respite from a serious snow storm so I sprang into action. A friend of mine once captured me shooting a handgun just about like yours. Only he was using a manual focus film camera. Quick reflexes. :)

wade_roth
Great shots to start the year off! Thanks, Patrick S. 10 fps helps a lot. I'd like to get one with the bullet just past the muzzle flash. I was having to much fun shooting the guns to shoot much with the camera though.

Andrew Garrard
Happy new year everyone. I've had a new year's cold (or some combination of ill, anyway) so I hope you'll forgive me defining "Wednesday" as "Sunday" for a week (otherwise I'll still be posting shots from my last Yellowstone trip when I'm back in Yellowstone...) My holiday had finally reached Yellowstone, and in the interests of editing, I'm going with the elements, starting with earth.

You can't go to Yellowstone and not take a picture of a bison. This is the Yellowstone sub-species, known as the "not another" bison, the cause of many a "bison jam" in Yellowstone. (Not to be confused with a "bear jam", which is marmalade if you like Paddington and hunny if you like Pooh.) Maybe it's because I'm belatedly watching a Peter Pan holiday season pantomime on television (a comedy version), but I'm going to say that this picture is evidence that every time someone calls one a buffalo, a bison dies. (Don't worry, it's fine, it's just what our guide was insisting was the "dating season" and this is a scent thing.)

Andrew Garrard
"Earth" is supposed to mean "land animals" (if you think it's confusing and I should have mud pots here, it's not as dubious as how I'm distinguishing fire and water...)

I have various shots of big-horned sheep, mountain goats (blown highlights every time - I must remember that next time I hire a D500) and <strike>mooses</strike> <strike>meeces</strike> <strike>mooce</strike> a moose, but it was this prong horn that had the decency to step out of the foliage and show an interest in a modelling career.
