james_treloar
I mostly use a big lens and photograph objects at great distance outdoors, using a Canon 7D II. Sometimes the object I am photographing is too small to see in the viewfinder (even at 600mm), but when I bring the photo into the PC I can resolve the image.
I was wondering if the Canon mirrorless cameras have a viewfinder that can digitally magnify the image, thus allowing me to discern detail in the subject?
brett_w.
I believe that the viewfinders on Canon's mirrorless cameras can digitally "magnify" the image similar to how it can magnify the image on the LCD display
DickArnold
I have a Canon M3 mirrorless. It has an Electronic View Finder that can be enlarged by 5 and 10x. I am buying an M5 which I think is better and it has this capability. These use M lenses but there is an adapter that will take regular Canon lenses. I just took my camera out and verfified what I just said. They both have 24MP EFS sensors but the five has the same sensor as the 80D which is more advanced. My M3 takes great pictures but the UI is awkward.
jamie_robertson2
Why not just use Live View on your 7D II? It has a 5x and 10x magnification. Attach something like a Hoodman HoodLoupe if necessary.
