I don't have any pictures of it on, but I have an older Fastpack 350, and it's reasonably comfortable on the back even with a pretty heavy load. It adjusts well, and the padding in the laptop compartment is OK. It's right about at the maximum for under seat plane storage, but it does fit if it's not packed to bulging. It's pretty roomy, with space for a camera and lenses, along with other stuff, and the computer compartment is big enough for even a fairly large laptop.

I also have a newer, smaller Fastpack AW150, which is very nice, but a little more cramped for long trips. When a local shop came up with the 350 at a very low price, I grabbed it, and found it a little more forgiving for long trips.

I like the Fastpacks because they have a good space for miscellaneous gear as well as cameras and computers, making them really nice for traveling, where you might need an extra shirt, space for lunch, a book, and so forth.

On my Fastpack the waist belt is not removable, and though it can be tucked in it's a bit of a nuisance, but not huge. I have not looked hard at the pro runner 350, but it looks as if it's the same basic pack size, except with all photographic innards, and opening from the front. How the two compare will depend a little on what you're carrying, I think. I like the Fastpack because I use it traveling, where I need some space for non-camera gear as well as the camera, and the allocation of space is handy. The way in which the camera goes in is fairly handy for access, since you can arrange it to get the camera out the side without opening the whole pack. The down side of this is that it's very easy to spill the camera out if you forget to close it back.

The camera section has a double zipper, and for travel security you can make sure that both zips are up under the front flap, impossible to open by mistake. You can also put the zips on the end, allowing the camera portion to open at the end, and pull out the camera without gaining access to the lens compartments.

The disadvantage of that design is that it is not terribly friendly for bigger cameras and longer lenses. It depends a bit on how everything is arranged, of course.

Here's a quick picture of mine with a D7100 camera, and the old 80-400 zoom attached. The camera and lens fit all right this way, but the lens alone would be difficult to accommodate in the side pockets. It's a little too tall to put in on end, and though one can take out a partition to turn two side compartments into one, it's a bit long to put on its side even then. In the side compartments are a 16-85 and a 55-300 zoom, and you can see that they are quite comfortable in the space. Lenses longer than about 7 inches can get difficult. With a shorter lens on it, the camera may be more comfortable rotated 90 degrees, so that the handgrip bulge is up. On the smaller fastpack this is the best way. On the 350, it's optional. Some of this may depend on whether they've updated the velcro and other partition bits, as the old Fastpack does not allow the right hand partition to be pushed in any further to accommodate the hand grip, but in use there's a fair amount of flexibility to the partitions. The padding on the bag is good, and the contents are well protected.

00eJxl-567394584.jpg.0df94eb40f695721e4f96a116d0a8766.jpg
