Hi all.

Just a few days until all this election craziness is over. A week ago I voted and waited in a 2.5 hour line to cast my ballot (early voting was at the Carmel Library). We had to drop some books off at the library and this time the line was a 5 hour wait! This image was from the outside of the building as it wrapped around the building and doesn't show it snaking through the book stacks inside the library.

Pentax K3, 18-55.
...and now onto more conventional images for me.

A couple more images of Red-Headed Woodpeckers. They aren't all that common immediately around Indianapolis, so I am fortunately that there is a nice local population growing.

As above.

Kind of quiet around here lately! I'll toss a few into the mix.
I've got a big portrait project on the horizon for the local hospital so I have been trying to do more head shots this week to get some practice in.
Here is my niece shot with the K-1 & ff mod DA* 60-250/4 which is nice for this kind of shoot. I like how the tripod collar rotates for easy portrait orientation and f/4 seems fast enough for the DOF I need.
.
I went to the local trails after having to cancel a fly fishing shoot due to weather. It looked like the light might be nice out this way and it certainly was!
645D & FA 80-160/4.5
.
A few minutes later while getting pretty wet under a steady rain. I switched to the K-1 for UWA since I don't have anything wider than 35mm for 645.
K-1 & 15-30

Hi Matt.

Every one of your images is truly beautify. Your niece's portrait is really nice, and capturing the full rainbow is really memorable. Nice framing too.

I don't know where everyone is going to. My duties have kept me from necessarily getting the POTW week up on time, so it may partly be my fault. Maybe its election blues? Not quite sure.
Oh, we have a new policy that images can be larger, it looks like up to 1000 pixels on the long side.

Cheers,

Doug
