First public display question

<p>Just asking for opinions,<br>

I'm having my first exhibition as well as a few Art Festivals later in the year. What are your personal preferences when it comes to display. Most will be 16x20, all B&W nature images. <br>

Old standard, black frame off white mat or Matte Acrylic frames? <br>

Any thoughts which way to go?<br>

<p>When I had a show some years back I used v. thin alum frames (black), cotton matts and cotton backing....even the tape was non-acidic. I was (and still am) of thought that the archival way is most presentable. My 2 cents.<br>

<p>I am a bit old school, and prefer a simple balck rame and white mat for an exhibition.</p>

<p>For an Art Festival, hang some framed prints and bring other prints mountes and matted in plastic sleeves presented in bins.</p>

<p>Pick a good metal frame you like and use 8 ply matboard for the window mats. The thicker mat really sets off the images. Be very careful about overcuts in whatever mat material you use.<br>

If you use "conservation framing" methods be sure to mention it in the information about the show. It adds to the worth for those who may collect your work.<br>

IF you fear your photos really aren't very good, put something red in them. If you still think they aren't very good, put them in red frames. ;-)<br>
