andrea_andrea6
i consider myself still a starting photographer. I live in texas right now but when i lived in New York I have did a few weddings.
My 1st wedding was held nearby where i live and i did it for free. no fees charged what so ever (which i am okay with since its something i am suppose to do as a starting photographer.
My second wedding was held in pensylvania. i told the clients if they could pay for gas and give me a place to stay.. i was given a place to stay an i got paid $40
My 3rd wedding was held in new jersey and i was promised at least $150 but didnt get paid anything.
well it's all okay.. i'm still considered a beginner either way, correct?

anyways.. it's been a year since i have taken any pics for any events. and i would love to get started again but, I want to make a contract. And would still give clients the lowest options when it comes to providing my services.. i will maybe even still provide them for free until my portfolio gets nice and more review or something.. but i really want to make a contract for the traveling and accommodations. that;s something i cannot afford to give away for free.
so i was wondering i'm something along these lines would be appropriate to charge as far as traveling, accommodations, and food fees go? I wouldn't need anything expensive and this isn't final but it's just an idea.. and this is something i would consider non refundable. let me know what you guys think, please.
CONTRACT FOR TRAVEL
expenses for travel are nonrefundable
optiond depending on photography event location

with in city limits : travel will be charge per mile + gas (difference refundable or applied to service fee) + food

Out of city limits : travel , per mile + gas (difference refundable or applied to service fee) + food

Out of state fees (options)
A.) a vehicle rental must be provided + gas (difference refundable or applied to service fee) + place to stay + food
B.) airlpane fee + place to stay + food

michaelmowery
It does not make sense to make a contract for just reimbursements of expenses. Just ask for the money upfront at the time they agree to use your free services. Come up with a number your happy with. It does not have to be exact. round it up to the next hundred dollars.
