ShunCheung
Thanks for the alert, Henry. It looks like the DSLRs are not affected. However, the three DL cameras, whose announcement was fairly well received back in February: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00dlCM, are seriously delayed. Nikon doesn't even have a new date for them yet:

In addition, the premium compact cameras, Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8, DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8, and DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6, will be delayed due to the serious issues with the integrated circuit for image processing built into the three new premium compact cameras, originally scheduled for a June 2016 release.
The new release date has yet to be determined and we will announce the information as soon as it is decided.

On a different note, according to Nikon Japan, the release date for the D500 is April 28, which is just a bit more than a week away: http://www.nikon-image.com/products/info/2016/0420.html (in Japanese)
howard_m
My read of 'serious issues with the image processing chip' tell me that they have a found a show-stopper bug in the chip (that can't be addressed in firmware) and it will need to be 'respun' by the chip mfgr after the bug is corrected and the entire chip revalidated/verified prior to release to manufacture, then a number of weeks to fabricate and then post-manufacture silicon & system validation.
pcg856
It also seems the earthquake is delaying parts shipments.Today I checked the status on my d750 for the shutter recall and it is now listed as PARTS HOLD.,will call Nikon tomorrow and try and get and update. Now I wonder how long this will take to get my camera repaired and back to me.

joseph_smith3
Shun, I will do that. I will try various AF dynamic settings especially for birds in flight. I think I am going to have to make some changes. Joe
WAngell
Hi Henry, you still list the D5 as 'New Item - Coming Soon' and available for pre-order. When I was in there last Thu picking up a new 400/2.8 your sales folks said that they'd not seen any yet. OTOH, some smaller shops have them in stock and available for sale. Any idea what timelines look like?

Thanks.
henryp
Walker: We're received some and while our retail sales associates won't know, they're being released to fill existing backorders.

Henry Posner
B&H Photo-Video
Henry Posner B&H Photo-Video
