daniel_huiting
Hi! I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to monitor the pictures being taken on an RZ67. Similar to a video tap for 16mm/35mm motion picture cameras. For studio environments where the client wants to review certain shots immediately for performance. So the color wouldn't need to be super accurate, but it would be nice to have something that is at the same shutter as the picture being taken so any motion/lack of motion would be represented accurately. If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! P.S. Bonus points if this system could be wireless! :)
gareth_williams2
Try contacting Leaf/Phase one as their backs can usually be tethered to a laptop but I think it unlikely that these do live view unless some way can be found of raising the mirror (release cable to lens and fire shutter from body and then use stop down lever on lens might work but cumbersome!) Try the Frank Dearhoff site and ask a question if you are interested - he might help.
ondebanks
Are you referring to shooting the RZ67 with film?

The focusing screen is the "live view" for film shooting...this could be monitored by a small video camera with a macro lens. But such a system won't capture exactly the instant of exposure, as the screen blacks out when the mirror lifts.
iversonwhite
A Polaroid back was used before digital era. You may be able to still find backs and film.
daniel_huiting
Thanks everyone! I appreciate the responses. I think the Polaroid back system is not exactly what I'm looking for but given the high price of the Leaf/Phase One stuff, the Polaroid system is probably the closest I'm going to get to seeing what I'm doing on set.

thanks,
-DH
