I took advantage of the lens shift function to make this panorama.

jim_bielecki1

Jim can you tell us how you made that panorama?

Sure. My camera (a Leica M240) was on a tripod. I composed the picture, then shifted the lens as far as I could to the left, and took a picture. I then centered the lens and took another picture. I then shifted the lens as far as I could to the right and took the final picture. I then pulled all three pictures into Photoshop and did a “photomerge.” I did some final corrections in PS (some cropping, brightness, etc.) that gave me the final pic.

I just picked up the Canon TS 35mm lens a few days ago. The nearest camera store is about 60 miles away from our house and I stop by on occasion when in town shopping. Some local pro, who retired years back, sold his 35mm cameras (several F-1’s and FD lenses), his medium format gear, as well as an old Linhoff, to the camera store. The TS lens was there, at a good price, so I bought it. A fascinating lens that I’m still learning. Today I’m going to experiment with the tilt function, which can create some very unique images.

Bill C1664885404
Looks like something happened to the Flickr image in my earlier post further up the thread, and I don't know how to reload it...apparently the 'edit' function times out after a while.

jim_bielecki1
This is moonlight you're looking at, not sunlight. I took this pic at about 4:30 AM a few days back. It's fall color season in northern Michigan so I was curious how the maple trees in our backyard would look at night during a full moon. FD 55mm 1/2 Aspherical wide-open for eight seconds, ISO 3200.

markminard
Canon FL 200mm f4.5 on my Lumix GH-1 with Fotasy adapter. This lens seems to play very nicely with this particular sensor. I may have to invest in a better adapter; the Fotasy doesn't feel very solid. Metabones perhaps.

Swamp Road Farm, near Peterboro, NY 10/19/2016
