jaisen_nailen
I have found some Kiev 88 bodies on the web for sale, but they list a 88, 88C, 88m and 88Cm. I know that the "C" means crank, but what is "m"? Also, it shows chrome and solid black models.
thomas_r._young1
"C" on a camera from KievUSA in CT means "Cranks", but "C" on camera from Kalimex S.R.O. from Prague means flocked interior and cloth shutter, so suffixes are different from different dealers. Try a web search for Kalimex, they have a great web page, and Kiev USA also has good page.
thomas_r._young1
Hi- Me again- Just to correct myself- "C" on cameras from Kalimex means the "C" lens mount, which I believe is the same as the Pentacon/Exakta66/Kiev 60 lens mount, and m means flocked interior and cloth shutters, and of course combinations of the above. Kalimex is at www.dedal.cz
alex___5
Dear Sir, "C", "m", "Cm" etc. are not standard labels. Each firm has its own system of cameras marking. Our labels mean next: Kiev-88 -- basic model with Kiev-88 "B" bayonet, metal shutters and metal unflocked interior; || Kiev-88m -- basic model with Kiev-88 "B" bayonet, plus flocked interior and black cloth shutters; || Kiev-88C -- with Pentacon Six "C" bayonet, metal shutters and metal unflocked interior (has moved shutter release button); || Kiev-88Cm -- with Pentacon Six "C" bayonet, plus locked interior and black cloth shutters (has moved shutter release button); || MC Kiev -- any model of Kiev cameras with multicoated focusing screen (for example MC Kiev-88m or MC Kiev-88Cm MLU); || MLU "x" -- any model of Kiev cameras with Mirror Lock-Up mechanism (for example Kiev-88Cm MLU2 or Kiev-60 MLU1); "x" means version of Mirror Lock-Up system - we now has MLU1, MLU2 and MLU3 versions: MLU1 -- first part of pushing shutter release button -> mirror release; second part of pushing shutter release button -> shutter release; / MLU2 -- first part of pushing shutter release button -> mirror release with next possibility of mirror control (turn on, turn off, turn on and fix; body has additional lever for mirror control); second part of pushing shutter release button -> shutter release; / MLU3 -- with possibility of fully independent mirror, shutter and film speed control; || H -- any model of Kiev cameras with hand crank (all cameras with MLU system have hand crank already installed and included in their basic price); || Black -- any model of Kiev cameras in solid black; || etc. <p> Regards, Alexander Pisarenko, Kalimex s.r.o., mailto:kalimex@dedal.cz, http://www.dedal.cz - Night Vision devices, http://www.dedal.cz/od_c_en.html - Optical devices
