Your decision might hinge on the kind of photography you mainly plan to do.
The 1D Mark II was the preferred body of professional sports and wildlife photographers several years ago because of its 8 fps rate, outstanding focus tracking for its time, 1/16000 sec. maximum shutter speed, and its reliability and ruggedness under tough conditions. I still love using mine because of its great responsiveness, handling, and customized programability.
Having at least two batteries and a Canon NC-E2 charger included in the deal will be a plus, as will some assurance that the body hasn't been overused or abused.
You have an opportunity to move up from a consumer body to a legendary pro camera, but the 1D Mark II might be more weight and complexity than some shooters want to deal with.

Thanks everyone. I still haven't

decided.

I do have a couple lenses that will work

with the Mii.

70-200 L F4 and 24-105 L F4

She doesn't have any lenses. She

bought it thinking it would work with her

XI lenses. But obviously wasn't the

case so she wants to switch systems.

This has literally been a very difficult

process ! Ugh

Is it odd to just ask members to tell me

what to do ?

Is this a friend of yours or just a loose acquaintance? I ask because perhaps you can arrange a temporary trade for a bit of a "trial" period to see how you like the Mark II and how she likes the t4i. If you're each happy with what you've acquired, you can agree to make the trade. If you or her doesn't feel like it's what you're looking for, you can simply return the bodies to one another and that's that.

You just have to weigh out what you're looking for. It's really an upgrade for you from a spec standpoint but you may not be comfortable actually using the Mark II and may decide that it's just not really for you. Which is why I think it'd be best if you could arrange to maybe just try it out and see how you like it before agreeing to a permanent trade. If that's not an option, just familiarize yourself with the MII as much as you can and decide whether or not you want to go for it!

Thanks Jeff ! Great idea. I don't know

her personally. You made a comment:

it's an upgrade for me.

Maybe it's easier if I ask.

I enjoy shooting everything. So how

about :

Which. At the end of the day.

Everything given (tech, iq, speed, date

) everything. Which is the better

camera ? That's the one I will go with.

I cane learn to use it !

The Mark II has more capability and is the better camera as far as I'm concerned. If you could try it out for a bit before you decide I think that would be a huge plus because what your using it for will certainly be a factor but if you're just looking for which one overall is better and want that one, I would probably make the trade. Hope it works out for you!
