juan_reyna
I4m trying to use an old Nikonos II as part of an experiment on BW artistic nude underwater photography. I4m interested on ear about where to find some spare o rings for this camera. Also, someone has some advice about this camera compared to Canon A1 UW? I4m planning to take pictures in shallow waters (rivers, creeks...) using available light and maybe some homemade silver plated reflector.
mike_liu
I think that Nikon still stocks O-ring sets for the II, although they might onlybe selling only those for the III to V by now. You might want to call up theNikon distributor/office for Mexico to see if they have the O-rings.
TheNikonos series (save the RS) have no real focus indication -- I guess that youjust end up getting good at estimating distances (or covering it with the depthof field), so that might be bothersome for your first roll or two. You might want to tryone of the plastic bags out on the market today -- I know that B&H sells them -- with an SLR.
leslie_giesler
For Nikonos II o-rings, try Bob Warkentin's Southern Nikonos Service Center, 9459 Kempwood, Houston, TX 77080 713-462-5436
This is considered the top Nikonos service house in the US. They maintain a large inventory of parts for the entire Nikonos line.
