stemked Posted August 28, 2016 Share Posted August 28, 2016
Hi Folks.

We've had quite a week here in Indiana. Several tornadoes, flooding, power outages, etc. I got to play lumberjack on our two Silver Maples, but we came out fine. Before that I had a wonderful time down at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. The butterflies were sensational!

Monarch, K5iis 150-450.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, male and Black Female

Common Egrets 150-450.

Storm damage.K5iis, 15mm f4
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

duane_mills Posted August 28, 2016 Share Posted August 28, 2016
Great kick off Doug - the Egrets photo is a superb capture. That 150-450 renders extremely well. Love the golden sunset Yury. How fast is the AF on the DA* 300? I have been on the fence about buying that lens for some time.
This week I'll stick to black & white to mix it up. Here are three shots...

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MattB.Net Posted August 29, 2016 Share Posted August 29, 2016
Nice contributions everyone!

I got my K-1 back from Precision so it's back in action. I also purchased the 15-30/2.8 to fill out the wide end of my FF lenses. That's a big fat lens! It seems to render very nicely and that's most important to me. I stopped by our local National Park yesterday en route to the airport and had my first planned landscape shoot with that lens. The handling is good with quiet and accurate AF from a landscape perspective. This is a quick edit on my Surface while I waited for a plane. I'll do a more thorough edit back at my main PC at home next week.
K-1 & D FA 15-30/2.8
<a title="IMGP2348-Edit.jpg" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
I also took it out a couple of evenings ago for the first quick shoot at the river park.
K-1 & D FA 15-30/2.8
<a title="IMGP1306-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
Lastly, a nice concert earlier this week from a great local band, Free the Honey who are sadly losing a member soon. The woman on the left is also my son's music teacher (and an excellent multi-instrumentalist and singer).
K-1 & Leitz Elmarit 135/2.8
<a title="IMGP1198" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
