I'm doing a photoshoot for a rock/metal band. its 3 guys. one is exceptionally skinny and the other 2 guys are big/wide. they're all about the same height. any suggestions on posing that will be most flattering. thinking the skinny guy more in front facing head on. the other guys slightly behind him at 3/4 angles. I just would like to even out their size differences in the photo.

One or two of them the leader(s)? How will the photos be used? What kind of mood do they want to create? What kind of lighting (which can have a major impact on how large someone appears)? What does wardrobe look like?

I tried to find a similar shot I did a while ago but couldn't come up with it. Similar deal of two big guys and one skinny. I'm not big on symmetry though I do like balance so I didn't want the skinny guy in the middle. I ended up with him to the left facing forward, one of the larger guys in the middle back with his arms crossed and slightly turned, and the other large guy to the right leaning forward with his elbows on a rail and just a bit back from the skinny guy but well in front of the guy in the middle back. From a visual mass perspective it was balanced.

The two guys closer to the front had a bit softer light though still a hard puncher from upper left. The guy in the middle back was a much harder light from the left and only a bit of soft spill which put a bit of his girth in shadow. This added to the visual balance of mass.
