kenneth_pelczar
I have the Carl Zeiss T* Planar 2.8/80, and I can unmount it from the camera without pressing the lens release button. Has anyone ever experienced this? I can re-mount it with no problem, and when mounted it works fine, but when applying enough torque to the lens (including sometimes moving the focus ring) the lens just comes off of the camera. If anyone's experiences this whats involved in the repair?
Ed_Ingold
There is a pin in the lens mount that engages a slot in the lens. You should hear it snap into place. The pin may be bent or broken. Otherwise, there may be a misalignment in the coupling which prevents the lens from fully engaging the mount.
douglas_fairbank
It could also be a very worn lens bayonet, if this is the only lens that has this problem.
stever_max
The lens release button should be used, in fact must be used to release the lens. Would you want the lens to just twist off??
