don_coppola
Anyone used wally world lately to send slides to Dwayne's? Curious as to the turnaround times.
TIA Don
steve_parrott
I was unaware Wally sent film to Dwaynes? I certainly would not send negative film through Walmart after learning they no longer return the negatives. I suppose they have no choice with slide film, but really, why bother with that middle man? Why not just send to Dwaynes yourself in the first place? Do you really want to trust your film to a place like Walmart? I sure don't.
larrydressler
3 weeks through Wally World. Sending directly to Dwayne's is 1 week.
glen_h
Does it save on shipping costs? They could batch them and send them in one box.

But I don't see anything about film, slide or negative:

http://photos.walmart.com/walmart/helppricing
-- glen
Mike Gammill
Your Wal Mart experience will vary with store, but I wouldn't trust them for ANY film processing. Now if I need a quick print from a scan or digital file I use Wal Mart. Dwaynes is worth the cost IMHO.
larrydressler
Walmart sends out to Dwayne's but they only pick up and deliver 2 times a week. C-41 gets returned with no negatives even if you request they be returned as they skip stabilizer to save money and just scan them medium rez. As for E6 they do return them is dusty boxes. and what we used to call substandard mounts. When you send it directly to them you seem to get better mounts and boxes but it may just be me. If I took the time to go out and shoot film I expect I can pay a little extra to pay full price to have someone finish the job for me so shipping is not an extra cost it is extra love for my craft.
Aoresteen
Bottom line: Send your film directly to Dwayne's and avoid Walmart.
BrianS1664879711
Or send to The Darkroom (San Clemente CA) and get your film developed and scans downloaded the day after they receive the film. ...
BrianS1664879711
... And negs delivered as fast as the mail system can move. ...
25asa
I work at a photolab and I wouldn't trust Walmart for anything to them of my own work. The company is in cost cutting mode and its not the company it used to be. Avoid.
bob_gaffron
Just got back my prints and CD from Walmart that were processed by Fujifilm. Quality is as good as any local processor and cost was $10. Took about a week- no negatives returned, which is what I expected. Will continue to use them as I don't have a local processor.
