Contax Aria Rewind Problem

<p>I have an Aria that automatically rewinds after about 3-5 frames. It seems as soon as the slack is removed from the roll the camera rewinds. The "u" piece that holds the roll in place seems jammed it will not turn at all. Is there some trick to unjamming it? Is there anyone left who will repair these? It is a beautiful camera and I an anxious to use it so any help would be appreciated.</p>

<p>The "fork" is chrome colored and should be <strong>free-wheeling</strong> if it's in the normal 'load the film' mode.<br>

If it's jammed, then there's gearing bound up or damaged.</p>

<p>Repairs run the same if not more than what you can buy them for in wonderful condition on Ebay ($200 to $300).<br>

Ebay Buyer Protection gives you a 45 day return policy no matter what the ad states (Sellers hate this policy).<br>

If they state it's "Very Good"-"Great"-"Excellent" or "Mint", it's got the 45 day guarantee if it isn't that...</p>

<p>Not certain, but <a href="http://www.tocad.com/services.html">ToCAD</a> may still service Contax cameras. Please let us know if you find anything out. I have an Aria that I've been meaning to try out (it really is a beautiful camera). Seems to work OK so far but I haven't run any film through it yet.</p>
