An RF-coupled adapter that lets you mount the 40/2.5 from the Minilux

Recommended Posts

You can extract the 40mm lens from the Minilux and mount it onto an M body in an RF-coupled housing:

Some Miniluxes are being sold on eBay as faulty, so you can pick those up for $150 or so. Get in quickly before the prices creep up.

Good point.
This lens holder/mount, really should be for use on mirrorless, then all of these accuracy concerns become moot.

Besides, if one needs this optic specifically for film use, then keep it in it's original "Minilux" body.
For about $200USD, one can have the common EO2 error FPC replaced (after-market part).

Yawn. I would just buy the Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 for $425 new or the 40mm Voigtlander f/1.4 Nokton for $500 and be done with it.

This is a 40mm lens so what frame lines on your M do you use? An external viewfinder will be needed as well.

I might add I have the Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 Pancake II and it is a superb lens.

This looks like a reasonable product. The MS Optical conversion is more expensive and a more quirky barrel and aperture arrangement, whereas this one looks almost like a conventional Leica lens. Its a niche product that people wont buy as their first and only 40mm lens. Theres a ready supply of junk cameras to provide donor lenses. Its not going to sell in mass numbers but its priced to satisfy enough sales to warrant its manufacture. As a collector of 40mm lens I must admit I put my order in already. :-)
Hint: Tell your other half "No this isnt another lens its just a spare part that allows you to salvage part of that old camera thats broken in the cupboard rather than throw the whole thing away and loose money. This is recycling I promise!"
