jose_rivera
I'm looking into stepping up to medium format, I have done some research and would like to buy a 645 pro, I dont know what prism is best for the money, the AE that is being sold with a package at a good price, or spend a little more and purchase their Pro AE with TTL, can some one give some advice. Thanks...
kristian_tjong
As far as I know, the AE prism that comes with the SV pack is a cheap prism. You lose about 11/2 or 2 stop. Better opt for the true PRO AE TTL. I uses an ETRSi myself as I found that I needed the shutter leaf lenses. If you decided to use a shutter lenses for the 645 Pro, it will cost you considerably more than the lens for ETRSi. Just my 2cents.
ulf_ackelid
As far as I know, the prism in the SV pack is not a glass prism. It is composed of mirrors, just like the "prisms" in cheap 35mm SLR cameras. The only advantage of such a construction is the reduced weight. The SV prism does not have built-in spot metering and exposure compensation. It has center-weighted metering and aperture-priority exposure control, but you can4t see the selected exposure time in the view-finder. If you can afford it, go for the more expensive AE prism finder FE401.
