Renting Exotic Glasses

Does anyone know what's the cost of renting a, say, EF600/4 for a weekend? I'd love to have one, but all my credit card line added together cannot reach a third of the price...

By your e-mail address, I assume you are in Southern California. The best place to get this information is Samy's Camera in west Los Angeles (213-938-2420, website: www.samys.com). They have a huge rental department and I know they carry the 600 f/4. I don't remember the rental fee. If you pick up the lens late Friday, you can return it on Monday for a 1 day rental charge.

No, it's not a nature question. Rental on a 600/4 would be around $100

for a wekend (depends on which lens, AF, MF etc), but you will

probably need a credit line for the full value of the lens (they have

to guard against you damaging it or getting it stolen etc.).
