noah_pardee
We buy and sell cameras on Ebay and have sold approx 10'000 cameras, lenses, & accessories (ranging from 1880's to 2000's) over the last 8 years mostly 1960's-1980's SLR cameras. I have recently come across this Bessel W3 camera that has me stumped for information. As far as I can tell by the design and markings on the bottom of the mirror box it is very similar to the Pentacon Praktica Nova (I). It is serial number 376310 as found on the inner rim of the right side film door switch plate. If anybody can give me some history/id this camera it would be very helpful:) I uploaded some pictures (unedited snaps) of the camera below so take a look if you think you can ID it. Also, please ask with any questions or for more info.
Thanks,
Noah (That_Canon_Guy

photos

click to enlarge
dave_g1
Nova PL1 with some in-house branding. To whom the "Bessel" brand belonged is anybody's guess.
john_shriver
The Pentagon logo is on the bottom in the second shot.
Someone wanted a "house brand" camera, and the "Soviet Bloc" vendors were always obliging in this way.
q.g._de_bakker
There's still a company of that name that's rebranding stuff: http://www.bessel.co.uk/
