davidmccracken
When commenting on photograph you are given a short time to edit the post before it is set in stone. It would be a good idea if this time limit could also be applied to critique requests. I am sure I have asked this before but nothing seems to have been done about it. I bring it up again as I have just noticed a rather silly typo on my latest critique request. I guess I could delete the photograph and re-submit it but that does cause other problems.
AJHingel
As you mention yourself, David, this has been asked for numerous times and answered with a negative response from the administrations. I don't think you can expect a different answer by repeating the question.
I agree with you, by the way. Silly typos, and the like, are considered historical gems to be protected and preserved for eternity here on Photonet :)
William Michael
I don't think that it is the reason that silly tyops are considered as gems to be preserved, I think it is rather that if all that is written could be altered by the author at a later time, then there would be innumerable (mostly bad) consequences.

As you two chaps have a "+10" banner after your names, I think I am correct in assuming that you should remember when there was a ZERO edit time after one Confirmed any post to Photo.net.

After much discussion, with the membership as I recall, there was an edit window of ten minutes adopted. I think that ten minute window is universal across all user input: forum, critiques, . . . etc.

I too have typos entered for posterity - that's life: my most common one is "form" instead of "from".

It just means that we need to pay as much attention to the detail of what we write as to the lighting of our pictures - at least there is ten minutes to have a second bite at the cherry and that's much more time than I get with some photos that I make.

WW

William Michael
Oh! I see that I have misread your post David - it is a particular case concerning the text that one submits in the "Critique Request" which you are discussing.

My comments are relevant about having a short edit time allowance: but do not address your issue.

I did think that the edit window of ten minutes, was universal across the site: apparently that is not so.

Sorry.

WW
davidmccracken
@Anders. Yes! Repeating questions and requests can work. Indeed, the more people that ask for something, the chances of something being implemented increases. I hope more people will ask for this feature to be implemented.
