It's April here in Japan. The cherry blossoms are suddenly out and it is raining. Please honor us with your FD photos good friends!

I used my Leica M 240 and Fujifilm X-E1 a lot last month. Here are two results. First: Canon FDn 200/2.8 on the X-E1.

00dDFo-556013584.jpg.ed740966fcfd28c63db71344138fd032.jpg

Thanks Gary - the Close Up lens 500 is most likely not anywhere near the same league as a proper FD Macro lens, but is a relatively cheap and certainly compact and lightweight alternative to carry around in the bag, just in case. I have a 72mm version which fits on the 35-105/3.5 and 200/2.8, and use a stepping ring to put it on the 50/1.4, on which it also seems to work fine.

Some great shots already.
Weather permitting, I've been after the moon as its been growing (waxing) towards Full this coming Saturday 04/04/15.
Sky was clear here tonight so to kick off April here's the 04/01/15 moon, 93% Illuminated, as it rose in the Eastern sky.
Canon FDn 400/4.5

".....The birds around your place seem to have a lot of personality, Bill, and you capture them great. Do you give them names?....."
LOL...not quite...but you can start to notice some tell-tale indicators of "resident" birds though...for example, this particular Male Bluebird is a regular as he has a recognizable small tuft of white feathers on the back of his head.

He and his mate have built a nest in a Bluebird nest box so I'm hoping to set up on it in the near future and get some shots of the parents coming to the nest box opening with worms / bugs in their beaks for the hatchlings

We've heard the phrase that a photo can speak 1000 words...this little photo strikes me sort of like that.
Two dis-similar species, side x side yet in quiet harmony, both transfixed by something going on over to their left.
Canon FDn 400/4.5, Male Bluebird + Pine Warbler in strong early morning side light

Canon FDn 24-35/3.5-L
Took a chance on a sunset between rain / thunderstorm forecasts at the end of the day and ran up to a local lake during the lull...some heavy weather elements hanging low in the air made for an interesting shot.
