Need suggestions on Pocket Wizard Mini Flash remote triggers

Greetings.
I have couple Pocket Wizard miniTT5 and miniTT1 (Nikon mode) to trigger my Nikon SB600, SB700 and SB800. They all work fine in my studio and event photo. Recently, I have a partner who is on Canon, wants to join the wireless flashes group. Just wondering if there is any simple way to add a mini Pocket Wizard trigger like miniTT1 (Canon mode ?) on his Canon to trigger my Nikon flashes group on MiniTT5 in M mode ?
If this doesn't work, is there any cheap universal wireless flash triggers and receivers set (I don't need TTL feature) that work well on Nikon and Canon camera ? Something like adding any flash on wireless receiver and fired by trigger signal sending from Nikon or Canon camera ?
Thanks.

Regular PocketWizards (the ones that simply fire the flash and don't have TTL) work on both Nikon and Canon and everything else, so you could use those. But do the miniTT units have a way to turn off the TTL functions so that they are the same as a normal PW? If so, you might not need to buy anything.

If you don't need TTL, why did you buy the miniTT's instead of regular PWs?

Yes. If you set the pocketwizards to use Basic Trigger mode you can fire off camera slaves from both your Nikon and his Canon.

You can actually set the Nikon miniTT1 to Basic Trigger mode only and you could mount your Nikon trigger in the Canon camera's hotshoe and fire the slaves on the Canon.

If you want to use on-camera flash in TTL as well it might become tricky. I'm not sure how to set that up though. You have to check with pocketwizard company for that.

I use the non-TTL PWs and can do what you want with no problems whatsoever. Basic trigger mode is turning your TTL triggers into standard triggers so in that mode you can use all kinds of pocketwizards together.

Great, it works.
One more question. Can I assume when all Nikon TT1 and TT5 are set to basic, any TT5/TT1 (Nikon or Canon) on Canon DSLR is able to trigger Nikon Speedlights on Nikon TT5 basic mode ? Or it has to be Canon TT5 ?
